How calendar sync works
Aline CRM checks for updates automatically in the background. You don't need to start a sync manually once setup is complete.
From Aline CRM to Google
Activities with a start and end time sync to a calendar named EnquireLEADS in the assigned user's Google account. This calendar is created automatically by the integration. It's separate from the user's main Google calendar. The event shows the activity's name as the subject and includes a link back to the Aline CRM record.
To see these events alongside your regular calendar, keep the EnquireLEADS calendar visible in your Google Calendar view (it's visible by default once created).
Only activities due within roughly the last two weeks or later are eligible to sync. Older activities are not picked up.
All-day activities do not sync to Google in any form.
From Google to Aline CRM
New events added to the EnquireLEADS calendar in Google sync to Aline CRM as activities. These are always created with the activity type Appointment. There is currently no way to configure a different type for incoming events. You can change the activity type manually in Aline CRM after it syncs.
Sending email to leads
If a user's Aline CRM account is set up with Gmail, sending an email to a lead through Aline CRM sends it through Gmail. It's logged as an activity on that lead's record, the same as with any other email provider. The user is automatically copied. A copy of the email also appears in their Google Sent folder.
This works for one recipient at a time. It doesn't support attachments.
Aline does not have access to the user's Gmail inbox and cannot see replies. Any reply to one of these emails goes only to the user's own Gmail account.
Making changes after something has synced
Once an activity or event has synced, the two records are no longer connected:
- Editing or rescheduling on either side doesn't update the matching record on the other.
- Cancelling or deleting on either side doesn't remove the matching record on the other.
If something changes on one side, update the other side manually.
